How reflexology works:

At its simplest, reflexology is probably the most relaxing treatment you will ever have.

Rooted in both ancient practice and anatomical and physiological principles, this is a full body and mind wellbeing treatment carried out through massage to the feet, hands or face.

Based on the principle that all the organs and systems of the body are connected to specific points - the reflexes - expert, targeted massage techniques can help alleviate and manage a range of challenges and health conditions, improving overall health and wellbeing. Many of my clients have experienced relief from muscle pain, headaches and migraines, IBS, symptoms of PCOS and improvements to their general stress levels, sleep or hormonal balance through regular reflexology treatments.

Every treatment is tailored to the needs and circumstances of each client on that day, combining a holistic approach with a focus on particular reflexes, relevant to the client's needs.

Appointments last one hour, including a brief preliminary consultation, and bespoke aftercare advice. I also offer Facial Reflexology, non-surgical Face Lifting treatments and packages combining classic and facial reflexology as well as massage.

Is reflexology safe for everyone?

Reflexology is a safe therapy that most people can enjoy. However, there are some medical conditions or circumstances where it may not suitable for you at that time. These include:

  • Women in their first trimester of pregnancy
  • Women experiencing “high-risk” pregnancies
  • People with open wounds, infections on fractures on their feet or very severe or painful oedema affecting the feet

Facial Reflexology is not suitable:

  • For women during pregnancy
  • Within three weeks of being treated with Botox or fillers

Whilst rare, reflexology may not be suitable for people with certain medical conditions or very severe illnesses. If you are in doubt, please speak to your GP beforehand or / and contact me for a discussion. It is unlikely you will not be able to receive a treatment, but I do ask for clients to confirm informed consent before any treatments if this is the case.
